OK, baby season is in full swing. We have ducklings and goslings everywhere! I am posting some items from our Amazon list that we need. I will post a cute video of our little wood ducklings out for one of their swimming sessions after this post.
The chewy gift card is a great idea. If you can’t decide what you want to pick, because then we can order what we need the most. We are going through a container of blood worms every day now because of all of the baby waterfowl!!!! Green scrubby’s because everything is dirty and needs scrubbed LOL!!
Baby and fledgling mourning doves are starting to arrive so we will soon need much more dove seed❤️

BABY ALERT!!!!! We have our first gosling on its way to the center, which means many more goslings and ducklings will soon follow! We do not have any dried blood worms. Blood worms provide a much needed protein boost for hatchling waterfowl. Please send!!!

Mama goose is a non-releasable Canada Goose that lives with us at the center. She is permitted as a surrogate parent. Her job every summer is to raise the orphan goslings that come into the rehabilitation center. Sometimes mama goose lays her own eggs, of course they are not fertilized, but that doesn’t stop her from building a nest and taking very good care of them for a time. The next time you’re annoyed with nesting geese remember this video. Look at the care that she is taking to tuck in every little bit of straw all around her to get it just right so that she can take care of those eggs that she’s sitting on.
I promise, the nesting geese are not trying to annoy you, they are just being very, very good parents❤️❤️❤️

This Great Horned Owl came to us as a youngster late last fall with head trauma. They got to spend the winter with free room and board while they healed. Last week it was time to go!
Run, Leslie, run 😂
