Our Indiana law, states that political signs may remain displayed from 30 days before an election until 5 days after.

Now that this primary election has passed as well as the deadline for signs to be displayed, I humbly ask that you remove your yard/any political signs.

It is the candidates responsibility to collect all of their signs.

It has been brought to my attention that there is some misinformation on at least one Facebook group concerning the Richard Allen appeal process as it relates to the duties of the Carroll County Clerk. I thought it would be best to explain how some of that process works as it pertains to Carroll County to hopefully stop some, if not all, of the misinformation being spread. The Carroll County Clerk does not send the transcript or any exhibits to the Court of Appeals UNTIL the clerk of the appellant court requests it. The appellant clerk files a Request for Transcript with me and then I file that request into the county case. Once that is entered, I have ten business days to provide the documents being requested to the appellant clerk. There is a misconception that I should have done this MONTHS ago and I have been derelict when it comes to my job duties and now the appellate clerk had to file something to “get me to comply.” That is simply untrue. The request for the transcript was sent and entered yesterday, December 18, 2025. I started the lengthy process to provide all the documents that are being requested today. This is a very sensitive case for our entire community no matter what position you take on Mr. Allen's guilt or innocence. As the county clerk, I am making sure everything is being done according to the law and is as accurate as humanly possible.

When people do not understand the full appeal process yet feel the need to throw out an accusation against another person, it only makes this already sensitive situation worse for all parties involved. This is also very detrimental not only to the person they are falsely accusing of wrongdoing, but quite frankly it affects the entire community negatively. I can assure you I take my job very seriously and make every effort to ensure there are no mistakes in this case or any other case. I would kindly ask that in the future you do some research prior to assuming something is being done "wrong" either because you don’t understand the procedures or that the procedures don’t make sense to you. This does not indicate something is wrong.
Respectively,
Sharon Milburn
Carroll County Clerk
