The Bethlehem Boat Launch got an upgrade on Thursday. Two new floating docks were installed at the north end of Henry Hudson Park along the shores of the Hudson River in the Town of Bethlehem. Celebrate the 33rd annual National Senior Health and Fitness Day at the Elm Avenue Park on Wednesday, May 27th! This free event provides various vendors and rotating fitness demos from 12-2:30PM. No lunch—but light snacks, watermelon and water will be provided.

SCHEDULE:

🔹Beginning at 12:00PM- Various vendors
🔹12:30-1:00 PM: Pickleball demo with Rick Bird
🔹1:00-1:30 PM: T’ai Chi demo with Rosemarie Tobin

We are very happy to announce that new docks have been installed at the Henry Hudson Park boat launch! A big thank you to our partners at the NYS Department of Environmental Conservation for the help and efforts to deliver these new docks!

Quick tips for courtesy while using the boat launch:

* Prepare your boat before approaching the ramp area, load gear, and do not block the ramp.
* When able, use two people to launch and retrieve the boat (one to operate the tow vehicle and one to operate the boat).
* Encourage passengers to wait ashore while preparing to launch instead of congregating on docks.
* After launch, move your boat and tow vehicle away from launch area as soon as possible.
* After retrieving your boat, prepare vehicle for trip home away from the ramp.
* Vehicles without trailers must not occupy parking spaces designated for trailers. NO PARKING ON GRASS!

We celebrated National Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work Day yesterday (April 23rd) with an engaging, hands-on day of learning and fun. The children got to participate in activities with their parents and all Parks and Rec staff to get a full picture of what the department does, and to be introduced to the world of public service and local government. They explored Parks and Rec facilities, visited Town Hall, got to try their hand at planning their own program, and more! We’re grateful to have shared this experience!
