The Dellroy American Legion, Post 475, was officially chartered on October 1st, 1920. The post was founded by a total of 24 community Veterans of WWI.
The original charter members were; William C. Brackin, Willard J. Brackin, Alex Cassidy, Clare C. Close, Doyle M. Dayhuff, Paul Elliott, Leslie R. Holmes, Lloyd Hoobler, John Hoopes, Wilbur D. Hunter, John W. Ischy, John A. Linder, Raymond W. Magee, Robert Marshall, Grover C. May, Vernon McCarty, Edgar W. Russell, Wilbur L. Russell, Jay Shotwell, Marion L. Slates, George R. Snee, Lorn L. Thorley, Olin Thorley, and Henry O. West.
Since that day, our numbers have grown to include over 350 members who have represented our community in its contribution to the defense of our great Nation from WWI through the Global War on Terror.
