On August 28, 2026, the Delhi Police Department arrested Garrett D. Sargent, 24, of Delhi, New York, and charged him with:

● Obstructing Governmental Administration in the Second Degree, a class A misdemeanor; and
● Resisting Arrest, a class A misdemeanor.

The charges resulted from an investigation into an August 15, 2026, incident. Sargent is accused of refusing officers’ lawful commands to stop fighting and place his hands behind his back. He allegedly made threats, physically fought with officers and attempted to disarm an officer while resisting arrest.

Sargent was issued appearance tickets directing him to appear in Delhi Town Court at a later date and was released.

All defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.

On August 20, 2026, the Delhi Police Department arrested Russell A. Degroat, 51, of Delhi, New York, and charged him with Criminal Contempt in the Second Degree, a class A misdemeanor.

Degroat is accused of violating a full stay-away temporary order of protection by going to the protected party’s residence, knocking on the door and attempting to gain entry.

Degroat was issued an appearance ticket directing him to appear in Delhi Town Court at a later date and was released.

All defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.

On August 14, 2026, the Delhi Police Department arrested Brittani P. Storrs, 32, of Delhi, New York, following an indictment by a Delaware County grand jury. Storrs was charged with Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree, a class B felony.

The indictment resulted from an investigation conducted by members of the Delhi Police Department into the trafficking of methamphetamine within the Village of Delhi.

Storrs was held at the Delaware County Correctional Facility pending arraignment in Delaware County Court.

All defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.

On August 6, 2026, the Delhi Police Department arrested Russell A. Degroat, 51, of Delhi, New York, and charged him with:

● Menacing in the Second Degree, a class A misdemeanor;
● Resisting Arrest, a class A misdemeanor; and
● Obstructing Governmental Administration in the Second Degree, a class A misdemeanor.

The arrest followed an investigation into an incident during which Degroat allegedly displayed a baseball bat and threatened to kill several people.

Degroat is further accused of attempting to pull away and flee after being advised that he was under arrest. He allegedly struggled with officers, made threats and repeatedly refused lawful commands while officers attempted to place him into a patrol vehicle.

Degroat was held at the Delaware County Correctional Facility pending arraignment in Delaware County Centralized Arraignment Part (CAP) Court.

All defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.

On August 6, 2026, the Delhi Police Department arrested Lisa A. Osbourne, 50, of Delhi, New York, and charged her with:

● Assault in the Third Degree, a class A misdemeanor;
● Menacing in the Second Degree, a class A misdemeanor; and
● Unlawful Imprisonment in the Second Degree, a class A misdemeanor.

The arrest followed an investigation into an incident that occurred earlier that morning. Osbourne is accused of restraining another person inside a residence, threatening him with a knife and causing injuries to his hand and face. The victim subsequently received medical treatment.

WILLIAM SCHENKEL JR.

On August 5, 2026, the Delhi Police Department served William Schenkel Jr., 37, of Salsbury, New York, with a criminal summons directing him to appear in Delhi Town Court to answer a charge of Endangering the Welfare of a Child, a class A misdemeanor.

The charge resulted from an investigation into an August 3, 2026, incident during which Schenkel allegedly offered an alcoholic beverage and a cigar to a 10-year-old child and made inappropriate sexual comments in the child’s presence.

Schenkel was also served with a temporary order of protection.

All defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.

On August 2, 2026, the Delhi Police Department arrested Bradley V. Grant, 35, of Pine Hill, New York, on an arrest warrant issued by the Delhi Town Court. Grant was charged with Criminal Contempt in the First Degree, a class E felony.

The charge resulted from an investigation into allegations that Grant violated an active order of protection by repeatedly contacting and harassing the protected party.

Grant was held at the Delaware County Correctional Facility pending arraignment in Delaware County Centralized Arraignment Part (CAP) Court.
