US 42 has reopened in both directions

TRAFFIC ALERT 🚨

US 42 is CLOSED between Fern Drive and London Road in the City of Delaware, Ohio - Government due to a serious motor vehicle crash.

Please avoid the area and use an alternate route if possible. Traffic delays are expected while emergency personnel work at the scene.

Join us tomorrow, Memorial Day, Monday. May 25, as we honor the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our country.
The Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 1095 will host a ceremony at 10 a.m. at the Veterans West area of Oak Grove Cemetery.
The morning will include patriotic music by the Delaware Community Concert Band, a community procession with Stockhands Horses for Healing, remarks from Mayor Carolyn Kay Riggle, the reading of the Gettysburg Address, cannon firing, rifle volley, Taps, and a ceremonial flag presentation.

Law enforcement explores competition with local high schoolers

During a recent training day, our Accident Reconstruction Team was sharpening their skills on the operation of our Total Station mapping equipment when a serious motor vehicle crash occurred at US‑23 and S. Sandusky Street. Our officers immediately transitioned from training to real‑time application, using this technology to accurately document the scene.

As a full‑service law enforcement agency, the Delaware, Ohio Police Department maintains the tools and specialized training needed to investigate even the most complex crashes, ensuring thorough and professional service to our City of Delaware, Ohio - Government community.
