Sometimes, the support you need is the support you almost didn’t have time to add.

When Jaymi’s twin daughters, Josie and Letty, came home after months in the NICU, Early Intervention felt like “another thing” on an already overwhelming list. But with support from Developmental Specialist Dena Woolum, the family found guidance, reassurance, and someone to celebrate all the little milestones along the way.

From understanding the girls’ unique developmental journeys to celebrating first steps and using a spoon, Early Intervention helped Jaymi feel confident in supporting each daughter where she was.

Today, Josie and Letty are happy, kind, creative, and thriving.

Read Josie and Letty's story and learn more about how Early Intervention became an invaluable part of her family’s journey in our August Perspectives Newsletter: https://www.dcbdd.org/perspectives/perspectives-august-2026/

Provider Morgan recently shared this story about Brooke and Melanie, who she first met in 2018.

Over the years, Morgan has been there for some pretty special moments, from watching Melanie win gold in cheerleading at the Special Olympics Winter Games to seeing Brooke discover crocheting during COVID and turn it into something she truly loves.

Brooke began making crocheted dolls for Columbus Blue Jackets players, cheering them on during warmups, talking with players after games and even mailing them her creations. Morgan was also there to give Brooke a pep talk before an NBC4 interview, an opportunity she may not have had without the support around her.

Eight years later, Morgan, Brooke and Melanie are still making memories and planning their next adventures, including a trip to see the Savannah Bananas in Georgia and a Boston Bruins game in Boston.

Thank you to Morgan, Brooke and Melanie for sharing their story and showing what meaningful support can look like over the years.
