The Delano Area Chamber of Commerce is hosting candidate forums to give residents an opportunity to meet the candidates and learn more about them.

Candidate forums will be held at Delano City Hall, 234 2nd St N. Candidates will be asked prepared questions, followed by an opportunity for public questions at the end, as time allows.

Forums will be recorded and available to view afterward at delano.viebit.com.

"What in the world is the Delano 150 Years Jamboree?" We hear you, so come find out!

If you've never been to a Jamboree, you're not alone. Delano hasn't had one either. This is a once-in-a-lifetime celebration, because Delano is only turning 150 once. On October 3, we're throwing our town the biggest birthday party it's ever seen, and we want the whole community there (that means YOU!).

Here's exactly what your day will look like...

You'll arrive in historic downtown Delano serenaded by music on the main stage. From there, wander Bridge Street for musical acts including Singleton Street, Delano Community Band, Monroe Crossing all day long. Walk the Spirit of Community Trail for a historical tour, guided by costumed actors. Learn old time games and a little square dancing. Check out a display of vintage cars and vehicles and see how folks used to get around. Head to the Delano Fire Department and Delano Community Education Building for model trains, a nod to Delano's railroad roots.

Step into our historic Village Hall and step back in time with Delano-Franklin Township Area Historical Society of Minnesota. Kids can make butter, yarn dolls, and paper hats. Try your hand at the Old City Hall coloring contest, browse a ViewMaster display, or stop by "Hats Off to Delano" to try on vintage hats and snap a photo. Watch an old-fashioned printing press and rope maker at work.

Then jump to today with a Delano Robotics demonstration. There's something free for friends and family of every age!

See art from across the decades at the Delano Public Library Show. Bring your appetite: enter the pie eating contest or the pickle eating contest (yes, Delano used to have a pickle factory), and pull out your best recipe cards for the Delano Area Chamber of Commerce Jello Salad and Hotdish Contest.

Cap the whole day off with a town-wide birthday celebration at 3:30 PM, complete with cake and everyone singing happy birthday to our favorite town.

Commemorate the day at the vintage van photo booth. Hop over to St. Maximilian Kolbe Academy - Delano, Minnesota for their own 150th celebration with dinner and music. And if you're not ready for the party to end, the Delano American Legion Post 377 and Wh***ey Jar are keeping it going into the night with live entertainment.

WAFFLE BREAKFAST IS OPEN!!!!
It’s a beautiful day in downtown Delano! Cmon down to the fire station and grab all-you-can-eat waffles and sausages.
Then swing across the street to the senior center for our huge silent auction. AND we’ve got several community groups at our Volunteer Fair with opportunities for people to get involved in community life.

Celebrates years of German heritage in Delano Central Park. Limited amount of 150th Bier Boots available this year, so get there early if you want one!

With students heading back to school, now is a good time to review e-bike regulations in Delano 🚲

At the Aug. 18, 2026 City Council meeting, Council approved an amendment addressing e-bike regulations within city limits. Knowing where different types of e-bikes can be ridden helps cyclists, pedestrians, and drivers safely share Delano’s streets, sidewalks, and paths.

➡️ Class 1 & 2 e-bikes can be ridden wherever traditional bicycles are allowed, with some sidewalk restrictions.

➡️ Class 3 e-bikes are not allowed on City bicycle paths or sidewalks and may only be operated on streets, roads, and highways according to applicable traffic laws.

➡️ Children under age 15 may not operate an e-bike. Children ages 15–17 must wear protective headgear while operating an e-bike.

➡️ Vehicles with motors rated at 750 watts or more are not classified as e-bikes and are not allowed on City bicycle paths, including sidewalks.
