💔 1 in 6. That is the reality for children right here in Volusia County.
When school lets out for the summer, that statistic becomes even more critical as thousands of local kids lose access to stable school meals. At The Neighborhood Center of West Volusia, we believe hunger should never be a part of summer vacation.
You can be the difference for a local family today.
Right now, your gift goes TWICE as far thanks to a matching donation up to $15,000! Because of our partnership with Second Harvest of Central Florida, we turn every matched dollar into an abundance of fresh, healthy food.

Help us change the statistic. Donate today, double the dollars, and fill a child's belly this summer! 🍽️

Join us for our Summer Campus Refresh! Each
summer, we ask volunteers to assist us with weeding and laying fresh mulch through our walkways and flower beds on campus.

We are looking for 10 volunteers who are able to lift approximately 30 pounds and can perform the tasks of weeding and laying mulch. All supplies will be provided.

Volunteers must wear closed-toed shoes, clothes they don’t mind getting dirty, and bring their own water bottle, sunscreen, or other comfort items.

Help us create a vibrant and welcoming campus during our Summer Campus Refresh! Sign up at https://www.givepulse.com/event/886989.

Today we celebrate the American flag and the values it represents—freedom, unity, compassion, and service to others.

Here in West Volusia, those values are reflected every day through neighbors helping neighbors. Whether it's volunteering, donating, or supporting local families in need, small acts of kindness make a big difference.

As we honor our nation's flag, we're grateful for a community that comes together to ensure families have food on the table and hope for tomorrow.

Wishing everyone a safe and meaningful Flag Day.

A full grocery cart means something different to every family.

For some, it's a weekly routine. For others, it's becoming increasingly out of reach.

This summer, many West Volusia families are facing higher food costs while children are home from school and household budgets are stretched thin.

That's why Summer Meals Matter.

Your donation helps the Neighborhood Center of West Volusia provide food assistance to families when they need it most. And because of our partnerships with food suppliers and Second Harvest Food Bank, every dollar goes further than store prices.

In fact, we can purchase meat for just 19¢ per pound, granola bars for 23¢ each, and cereal bowls for 39¢ each.

Now through July 15, every donation will be matched dollar for dollar through our $15,000 Summer Meals Matter Challenge.

Together, we can help fill more carts, more pantries, and more tables this summer.
Hop over to our website and double your impact today!

🧴 Help Our Bridge Shelter Residents Put Their Best Foot Forward 🧼

The men and women staying at our Bridge Shelter are working hard every day to build brighter, more independent futures. Something as simple as having personal hygiene items can make a big difference in helping them feel confident, healthy, and ready for work, appointments, and new opportunities.

We are currently in need of standard-size bottles of:
• Shampoo
• Conditioner
• Body Wash
• Deodorant

Donations can be dropped off at the Neighborhood Center of West Volusia, 434 S Woodland Blvd., Deland or, for added convenience, shop our Amazon Wish List and have items shipped to us. See link in comments. 👇

Your kindness helps our residents maintain their dignity as they take important steps toward self-sufficiency. Thank you for helping our neighbors bridge the gap from homelessness to housing. ❤️

Did you know that more than 2,500 Volusia County students experience homelessness each year?

Homelessness among children often looks different than people expect. It can mean living in a motel, doubling up with relatives, or moving from place to place without a stable home.

For many families, summer brings even greater hardship as children are home from school and grocery bills increase.

That's why Summer Meals Matter.

Through the Neighborhood Center of West Volusia, families receive food assistance when they need it most. And thanks to partnerships with organizations like Second Harvest Food Bank, your donation goes much further than grocery store prices.

We can purchase:
🥩 Meat for just 19¢ per pound
🥣 Cereal bowls for 39¢ each
🍎 Fruit cups for less than 70¢ each
🥣 Granola bars for 23¢ each
🐟 Tuna for 75¢ per can

Now through July 15, every donation will be DOUBLED through our $15,000 matching challenge.

When you give, you're not just providing food—you're helping local families put meals on the table all summer long.

To give see the donation link in the comments.
