For those dealing with the aftermath of Hurricane Irma, here are some tips. If you have property damage, file a claim with your insurance company, then contact FEMA. If you are without power be patient. Federal, State, and Local agencies and companies are working tirelessly to restore power to affected areas. If you are still without power by Monday, contact your utility company and Governor Scott. Try not to call Senators Nelson and Rubio, as their offices can only send inquiries to the Florida Public Service Commission. If FEMA is not providing adequate disaster relief, contact your regional office of either Senator Nelson or Rubio. Remember, if you have evacuated from a disaster zone and are unable to return to your home, you are eligible to receive funding for temporary relocation at a FEMA-approved hotel/motel. If you are in need of supplies and resources, Senator Rubio's offices have partnered with companies around the State of Florida to host Hurricane Irma Recovery Assistance Centers all next week around the whole state. The University of central Florida is a relief center right now. The first center will be held in St. Augustine on Monday. Finally, go around your community and help your neighbors. If you have power, open your doors to your friends. Lend a generator. Maybe someday, they will be able to return the favor. That's all for now. If you have any questions, feel free to message us or call the FEMA help hotline. Their phone number is 1-800-621-3362 / TTY (800) 462-7585. Additional resources are as follows:
