A huge thank you to Sentry Delafield, Daybreak Mobile, and Carisma Customs for their generous donations and fundraising support for Officer Kuehl's participation in the Police Unity Tour. Your support helps honor the memory of fallen officers and supports the families and survivors left behind.

We are also incredibly grateful to the Delafield community. Your support helped make it possible to ride over 250 miles from Philadelphia to Washington DC between May 9-12 in honor of fallen officers and in support of their families and survivors.

Today on Peace Officers Memorial Day, we pause to honor and remember the brave officers who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to their communities and this nation. Their courage, dedication, and selfless commitment will never be forgotten.

As National Police Week comes to a close, we also want to recognize and thank the men and women of law enforcement everywhere who continue to serve with professionalism, compassion, and integrity each and every day.

The Delafield Police Department proudly stands in support of all law enforcement officers, their families, and the communities they protect.

Early this morning officers from several area agencies assisted the City of Delafield Police with a report of a burglary in progress. A mother was calling because someone was attempting to enter their home while she was home with her children. Security footage monitored by the family showed a subject in a black hoodie attempting to make entry. As the first unit was arriving on scene they were told it could be a high school prank, but they were unsure. Upon arriving on scene a subject in all black was located by a Delafield officer crouched next to a building on the property. This subject was holding something...a sq**rt gun.

We are the first to support kids being kids and having fun in their youth. We even support a good prank. We do not support this. Nerf Wars, Senior Assassin and other similar games can be done safely and responsibly. The behavior this morning will not be tolerated and endangers the safety of those participating as well as the officers and public as they respond to the reports of a possible crime in progress.

If you are participating in these types of events we ask that you be safe and respectful. Here are some general rules. These are not specific to the facts of this recent incident.

- Do not attempt to enter any property without permission.
- Notify everyone in your home if you are participating in this event and whether you have allowed others to come to your home.
- If someone confronts you, especially the police, drop all items you are carrying and explain the situation.
-If you see the police, do not hide, drop anything that may resemble a weapon and comply with any commands.
