Today is National Su***de Prevention Dayโ€”a day to raise awareness, encourage connection, and remind one another that su***de prevention is something we all have a role in.

But I also want to acknowledge that this week may be difficult for many.

For those who have lost someone to su***de, this week may bring back memories, grief, questions, and emotions that never fully disappear. For those who are struggling themselves, conversations about su***de can feel especially heavy. And for those supporting a loved one, it can be difficult to know what to say or how to help.

You don't have to have the perfect words. Sometimes, simply being present, checking in, listening without judgment, and reminding someone that they matter can make a difference.

Please remember:
๐Ÿ’œ It's okay to not be okay.
๐Ÿ’œ It's okay to ask for help.
๐Ÿ’œ It's okay to check on someone, even when you don't know what to say.
๐Ÿ’œ You don't have to carry everything alone.

If you or someone you know is struggling or experiencing thoughts of su***de, call or text 988 to reach the Su***de & Crisis Lifeline. You don't have to wait until things feel unbearable to reach out.

Todayโ€”and every dayโ€”let's choose connection, compassion, and checking in on one another.

You matter. Your life matters. And asking for help is a sign of strength. ๐Ÿ’œ

988 Day is a national initiative dedicated to raising awareness about the 988 Su***de & Crisis Lifeline and emphasizing the importance of mental health and su***de prevention. The theme for 988 Day 2026 is 988 Reasons: Your reason is reason enough. This theme reminds us that you donโ€™t have to be in crisis to reach out to 988. Whatever youโ€™re facing, big or small, your reason for seeking support is reason enough.

Your reason is reason enough.
