We offer five programs to assist the community.

1. Community Action Program strives to help low-income families achieve and maintain their highest level of self-sufficiency by providing a variety of programs. We have two primary purposes: to provide essential anti-poverty programs, and to advocate for the needs of the poor in their communities. This program networks with various social service a

gencies, community groups, and businesses in the county to better serve the low-income population in DeKalb County.

2. Youth Mentoring offers a mentoring program that will match one child and one adult, paving the way for magical moments with life-changing impacts.

3. Children's Advocacy Center provides multidisciplinary teams of professionals to serve children who have been abused. These are adults who recognize the hurt of abuse and have dedicated themselves to providing help and protection without causing further suffering. The goal is for every child to experience the sweetness and innocence of childhood without pain, abuse or emotional trauma.

4. Center For Counseling counseling professionals engage in a team effort with their clients to gain relief from issues troubling the client, create meaningful change and work toward personal growth. This program offers a variety of resources including EMDR, TF-CBT, divorce mediation, court-ordered diversion programs, group counseling, and much more!.

5. Senior Services: provides health and wellness promotion, education programs, social/recreational activities, and mentoring at locations throughout the county. We have senior centers in Malta, Genoa, Sycamore, and DeKalb (We do not offer caregiver/homemaker services).

Thank you to everyone who helped make our Build a Bag event such a success! 💙
FSA’s Youth Programming was able to provide youth and families with hygiene items, clothing, shoes and flip-flops, backpacks, fidgets, toys, Youth Programming's Roots to Rise - Youth Shelter information, and helpful community resources.

We are so grateful for the donations, support, and teamwork that made this possible. Events like this help make sure our youth have access to basic needs, comfort items, and resources that support their well-being both in and out of school.

Thank you for helping us show up for the youth and families in our community! 🎒✨

Today, we pause to honor and remember the brave service members who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country. Their courage, sacrifice, and commitment to protecting others will never be forgotten. 🇺🇸

At Family Service Agency, we are deeply grateful for those who gave their lives for the freedoms and opportunities we hold today. We also recognize the families, loved ones, and communities who carry their memory forward each day.

As we spend time with loved ones this Memorial Day, may we also take a moment to reflect with gratitude and remembrance. ❤️🤍💙

In observance of Memorial Day, all Family Service Agency offices and locations are closed today.
