Walton County Board of County Commissioners meeting April 28, 1 p.m. at South Walton Annex.

Among items on the agenda are a Walton County Building Department update, Disability Beach Driving Permits, request to rank and award RFQ for federal lobbyist services, a legislative update, a Walton County Engineering Department quarterly report, comparison of turf versus grass field for Helen McCall Park, Walton County Public Works Department quarterly report, Walton County Tourism Department 2026-27 media plan, request for direction on nonprofit agency funding program for the 2027 fiscal year, and an update/request for direction on scope of work for forensic audit on Dalton Drive Commercial project.

Items to be brought up by individual commissioners include: Commissioner Curry – Beach chair vending discussion with possible motion/”Revenue Allocations”, discussion and possible direction on a per-department budget request, and ball fields countywide; Commissioner Glidewell - Request approval for the Office of the County Attorney to draft an Amicus brief in support of Dune Allen, Inc.; Commissioner Johns - Discussion and request for direction/action on home occupation permit issues; Commissioner Anderson - Request approval to name the Grayton Beach Community Center in honor of Bets “Beachmama” Haynes, approval to schedule and advertise a public hearing for naming or dedicating county owned facilities, buildings, parks, and other properties, and request for direction for the Office of the County Attorney to draft an amendment to the agreement with the Boys & Girls Club; and BCC Chairman Drake - Request to amend Ordinance 2022-10 to allow for propane bonfires on the beach as an exception to the prohibitions.


Among items on the consent agenda are a recommended order of approval/final order for The Garages at Miramar Phase 1 & 2 and an appointment policy and procedures for volunteer boards and committees.
