🎉 Walton County Board of County Commissioners Recognizes Outstanding Employees!

The Walton County Board of County Commissioners recognized the Purchasing Department staff for being recognized with the 2026 Achievement of Excellence in Procurement Award at last Tuesday's BCC meeting.

This recognition reflects the hard work, professionalism, innovation, and commitment to public service demonstrated by their team every day. Achievements like this are never the result of one person, they are made possible by dedicated employees, supportive leadership, and strong partnerships across our organization.

Chief Financial Officer Melissa Thomason explained that this was the department’s first application for the top award from the National Procurement Institute and it encompasses a year’s worth of work.

“It is an award that recognizes excellence across a broad range of best practices, including innovation, professionalism, leadership, continuous improvement, e-procurement and organizational excellence.”

We want to congratulate Jason Cutshaw, Purchasing Director, along with the entire Central Purchasing team on this award!
