🏡 HELP US BLESS A FAMILY WITH A FRESH START 🏡

This is what community collaboration is all about.

A hardworking single mother, domestic violence survivor, and healthcare worker has overcome homelessness and recently secured stable housing thanks to the combined efforts of multiple community partners of the Homelessness and Housing Alliance, including Shelter House, One Hopeful Place, and many others working together throughout our Continuum of Care.

As an ALICE (Asset Limited, Income Constrained, Employed) household, she worked hard every step of the way to regain stability. Now we'd like to help turn her new house into a home.

💚 FAMILY CODE WORD: FRESH START

We are seeking donations of NEW items, including:

• Queen Comforters (2) – Earth tones or black preferred
• Queen Sheet Sets (2) – Earth tones or black preferred
• Bath Towels & Washcloths – Earth tones or black preferred
• Shower Curtain Rod
• Shower Curtain – Earth tones or black preferred
• Bathroom Accessory Set (soap dispenser, toothbrush holder, soap dish, tumbler, etc.) – Earth tones or black preferred
• Kitchen Flatware Organizer
• Spoons, Forks & Knives
• Potholders – Earth tones or black preferred
• Laundry Baskets – Black preferred

We are also looking for a couch in good condition.

Through our Redemption Boutique, we are working to provide many of the household essentials this family needs, but we would love to bless this hardworking survivor with a few nice new items as she begins this new chapter.

This evening, we attended Walton County’s Hurricane Preparedness Event at the Walton County Emergency Operations Center. During the discussion, we were invited to share a little about the Matrix Community Outreach Center’s role as the Human Services Branch and how we work alongside community partners to support residents before, during, and after disasters.

We appreciate the opportunity to be part of these important conversations and to collaborate with the many agencies, organizations, volunteers, and community leaders dedicated to keeping Walton County prepared and resilient.

A special thank you to the Walton County Emergency Management team and all of the partners who invest their time and expertise into disaster preparedness efforts year-round. The work that happens long before a storm arrives is what helps communities respond effectively and recover more quickly when challenges arise.

Preparedness starts before the forecast, and we’re proud to be part of a community that takes that responsibility seriously. 🌀💙

We have a small amount of perishable food items left over from today’s food assistance appointments and would like to share them with the community rather than see them go to waste.

If you can stop by within the next 45 minutes to 1 hour, you’re welcome to take anything available in the cart. Please take what you need, and feel free to grab a few items for a friend, neighbor, or someone who may benefit.
