Memphis, come get ya boy. Bring the aloe.

Generally, when we brag on the resort amenities in our beautiful slice of paradise, we mean things like beach chairs, towels, and maybe a nicely blended frozen drink.

What is not included is helping yourself to employee-only equipment or punching a 72-year-old resort staffer when told no.

Tuesday, June 9th, Walton County Sheriff's Office deputies responded to Beachside Two after a guest reportedly decided a pool umbrella from the employee area was his for the taking. His entitled judgment call quickly led to an argument in the hallway.

While the initial scuffle was not caught on camera, the rest, unfortunately for Collin Ross, 30, of Memphis, Tennessee, was.

Witnesses and video showed the two separated, the older man on the ground, and Ross choosing that moment to repeatedly hit the victim in the face despite zero resistance or threat.

The victim suffered multiple injuries. Ross ended up with a dislocated shoulder. Both were taken to Sacred Heart for treatment. Only one left with a felony.

Ross was arrested for felony battery on a person over 65. He was released today on a $5,000 bond.

WALTON COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE LIEUTENANT GRADUATES FROM FDLE EXECUTIVE INSTITUTE SENIOR LEADERSHIP PROGRAM

WALTON COUNTY, FLA— The Walton County Sheriff’s Office is excited to share that Lieutenant Tabitha Lecuyer has graduated from the Florida Criminal Justice Executive Institute Senior Leadership Program, Class 28.

The program is hosted by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement and includes six week-long sessions over ten months. It helps prepare criminal justice leaders for the challenges facing communities across Florida.

Lieutenant Lecuyer was one of 33 graduates representing 27 agencies throughout the state.

Her graduation reflects her ongoing commitment to professional development and her dedication to serving Walton County.

Lieutenant Lecuyer has built a strong career at the Walton County Sheriff’s Office. She was promoted to Patrol Sergeant in 2019 and later graduated from the Florida Leadership Academy, Class 49, in November 2021 while serving in that role. In late 2024, she was promoted to District 2 Lieutenant.

She has also led several important efforts within the agency. Lieutenant Lecuyer played a major role in rebranding the Handle with Care initiative into the SAFE Program, which focuses on supporting individuals with developmental differences. This work is especially close to her heart.

She is also deeply involved in Project Lifesaver and is an active member of the WCSO Drone Team.

“Lieutenant Lecuyer brings compassion, dedication, and a true passion for service to everything she does,” said Sheriff Michael Adkinson. “Her commitment to our community and her continuous drive to grow as a leader make her an invaluable part of our agency.”

The Walton County Sheriff’s Office proudly congratulates Lieutenant Lecuyer on this accomplishment and her continued service to the people of Walton County.
