When all else fails… how will you communicate? 📡

Join Walton County Amateur Radio Club for the Entry-Level “Technician” Ham radio class, an 8-week entry-level course to learn how to get licensed, build emergency communication skills, and connect with other radio enthusiasts in Walton County.

Class Details:
📅 Mondays, October 6 – November 24 (8 weeks)
🕡 6:30 PM – 9:30 PM
📍 Padgett Park Indoor Pavilion
810 J D Miller Road, Santa Rosa Beach, FL

Why Join?
✔️ Earn your “Tech” license and start participating in amateur radio activities
✔️ Create a family emergency communication plan
✔️ Gain backup communication skills for emergencies
✔️ Track locations using APRS (ham GPS)
✔️ Support your community through Amateur Radio Emergency Service (ARES)

Cost:
💲 $35 – includes the approved textbook
💲 $15 – for each additional family member in your household

Our CERT volunteers kept everything running smoothly with traffic management, ensuring over 150 meals made it into the hands of families in need.

The Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) program equips everyday citizens with lifesaving skills to help themselves, their families, and their neighbors during emergencies. This FREE, hands‑on course covers disaster preparedness, fire safety, light search & rescue, medical operations, and more!

Today, on Memorial Day, we honor the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our country and our community.

Their sacrifice reminds us of the true meaning of service—something we strive to carry forward every day through Walton County CERT.

This program was created to help our neighbors in times of crisis, standing ready to support our community when disaster strikes. In doing so, we hope to reflect the same spirit of selflessness shown by those we remember today.

Let us never forget their courage, and may we honor them through our continued commitment to serve. 🇺🇸✅

Congratulations to the newest graduates of the Walton County Community Emergency Response Team (CERT)! ✅💪

Last week, these dedicated individuals put their weeks of training to the test in a final exercise that included fire suppression, search and rescue, medical triage, cribbing, and more. Their hard work and commitment have strengthened our community’s ability to respond in times of crisis.
