EXCHANGE STUDENT HOST FAMILY/FAMILIES WANTED— two students need a home to complete their “exchange student“ experience for the school year 2018–2019.

Both teens are currently playing soccer, and attend Defiance High School. One student is from Spain, the other is from Germany. They are both male students. Ideally it would be nice to place them together because they currently are housed together through the nonprofit group detailed on the link below.

If you are interested in becoming a host family you would need to pass appropriate background checks and provide reasonable accommodations. If you have any further questions you can post in the comments below and/or review qualifications and expectations detailed.

For those of you who are interested, this could in fact be one of the most interesting life changing experiences one could hope for. The exchange of cultures through teenagers nearing maturity, not only provides an international student with unique opportunities being introduced to the Americas, but also introduces American families to cultures from overseas, in this case Europeans. Whether you have high school children of your own, or are empty-nesters, or are young family matters not.

Please give this serious consideration.

BOSTON and STYX FANS FROM NW OHIO TRISTATE AREA---Class of 84 classmate Vic Sanchez is organizing an Alumni outing and getting backstage to see David Victor (second from left in photo) formerly with the band BOSTON 2012-14 and sung their #1 hit “Heaven and Earth”. He spent two years with Tom Sholz leader of the band Boston in his private studio. Awesome yet humble rocker!!

They are playing in Van Wert April 21st. They just finished up a gig in Vegas. Tickets just $20 and Vic Sanchez is going backstage before the concert into the Greenroom to meet the band and may be able to get more Alumni backstage.

Vic’s classmate Ralph befriended the band out in California and is passing the torch to Vic to share with the hometown Alumni.

Message Victor or post below if you are going we will try to get you backstage as well!!

FRIEND OF DHS CLASS 84—OHIO SHOW BOSTYX— classmate Ralph (center) 84 Alumni recently friended former guitarist for Boston (David Victor-center) and went backstage for the California show this weekend (Lynn-left and Debi-right Ralph's Rocker Live Music Meetup friends). The band is coming to Van Wert at the Niswonger Performing Arts Theater April 21st.

David Victor is former guitarist and vocalist for Boston on the 2012-2014 NorthAmerican tours. Now I’m passing the torch to Vic Sanchez also DHS Class of 84 for the NW Ohio show to organize a special block of seats for DHS alumni. BOSTYX is a fantastic tribute to all the classics of Boston and Styx. The harmony is nothing short of angelic.

I urge you all to like the FB page and show the love. Try to attend and get the word out. Please share. Just sharing some connections I was lucky enough to make with my hometown Ohio friends.

DHS CLASS Of 80-85

Class of 82 is having their 35th reunion Saturday, Sept. 30th, 2017.

Intended as a multi-class bash (80-85)

This is the weekend of the ribfest and we'll have a day planned for all who wish to participate.

A class of 82 party is being planned for
Friday, Sept 29th at the home of Phil Ferland.

Sunday we'll have brunch or lunch in Defiance at a location to be determined.

DHS CLASS OF 82---Rudy Tijerina from Class of 82 is going to be home in Defiance. He wants to book a gig to play for his hometown at Spanky's most likely May 13th-14th.

Who would go if he played?

Rudy is an accomplished guitar musician and lead singer for a band called TJ and the Cruisers based out of Tampa Florida with over 25,000 followers on Facebook.
