Final day of Penney Nature Camp! A lot of energy and fun as we got up close to some Ohio Wildlife. Took a walk to learn why Penney’s wetlands are important. Learned about Defiance County Dare program. And learned some camp games and songs.

Penney Nature Camp at Oxbow Lake never disappoints. Terrific weather to go exploring, paddling, shooting, and trying to catch a big one. Ending the day with stone fired pizza was perfect. Thanks again to our partners ODNR, Nocking Point Outfitters, H2Ohio, Division of Wildlife, and Dolce Sorella Pizza.

Penney Nature camp with kindergarten through second grade had a FUN filled day one!!!! We learned some history about NW Ohio from the Black Swamp to the wildlife that once called this place home. We also learned about water in our watershed, bees and pollination, and put our engineering skills to work to save Fred the worm. A little rain didn’t stop our fun.

BEST OF LUCK TO HICKSVILLE ENVIROTHON TEAM as they head off to the State Envirothon Competition in Steubenville on Monday.
These amazing kids will go against 19 other teams from across the state with their hard earned knowledge of soils, aquatics, wildlife, and forestry.
