A huge thank you to the General Motors UAW Women’s Committee for once again spending time with the children at our Defiance Head Start Center! Each year, they help make special memories for our kiddos by planning fun activities and providing snacks for every child.

This year, the children enjoyed musical chairs, a spring art craft, and a special treat to take home. We are so grateful for community partners like the GM UAW Women’s Committee who continue to support our children and families year after year.

Our Wauseon Head Start students are blasting off into summer! 🚀☀️

NSCC Head Start had so much fun at our Family Fun Day last month! The day was filled with smiles, laughter, learning, and lots of furry friends at the petting zoo. The children loved meeting the animals while families had the opportunity to connect with our wonderful community partners and learn about resources available in our area.

We are so thankful for the amazing community partners who spent time with our families and helped make the day extra special. Events like these remind us how lucky we are to have such a caring and supportive community.

Our Mental Health and Disabilities Assistant, Miss Heidi, had a wonderful time visiting the Defiance Library to read with the children! 📚✨

She also shared her amazing puppet skills, and the kids absolutely loved every minute of it! Seeing their smiles, laughter, and excitement made for such a special day.

We love giving back to our community partners and creating meaningful experiences for children and families throughout our community. ❤️

A big thank you to the Defiance Public Library System for welcoming us. We look forward to more opportunities to learn, connect, and grow together!

We are ready for the summer sun to shine and help our plants grow at Head Start!

Wauseon Head Start’s FD2 class had a wonderful time learning about plants with the help of parent volunteer, Miss Peyton. She visited the classroom to teach the children how to plant seeds and led a hands-on lesson about how plants grow.

A big thank you also goes to the Wauseon FFA students who volunteered their time to help get the Wauseon Center gardens looking great and ready for planting.

Before the school year ends, the children will plant their own seeds and return to see how much they’ve grown. Students will also participate in Farm to ECE lessons to learn more about fresh foods, gardening, and healthy eating.
