The Deerfield Caucus is a nonpartisan volunteer organization designed to help the community identify the most qualified candidates for elected Village offices, including Mayor and Trustees.

The Deerfield Caucus pays tribute to Maureen Wener's life of service. She selflessly dedicated her time to local governments and community organizations in Deerfield. Her contributions and her spirit will be missed. May her memory be a blessing.

Election Day is April 4, 2023. Early Voting has started and runs through Saturday April 1 (Monday – Friday 9am – 5 pm, Saturday 9 am – 2 pm.

I am supporting Larry Berg, Elaine Jacoby and Bill Seiden for election to the Deerfield Village Board of Trustees.

I support these candidates not just because they have been endorsed by the Deerfield Caucus but also because they have proven track records of leadership, community engagement, governance and experience. In addition to their varied backgrounds and professional skills, they represent the true essence of our Village. They are collaborative, responsive and have shown time and time again how much they truly care about Deerfield. Larry, Elaine and Bill are not single-issue candidates who have sat on the sidelines only to second guess policy decisions. They are candidates with proven commitments to representing our community. It is no wonder they have been endorsed by our caucus and received the most votes at our town hall meeting earlier this year.

Larry and Elaine both served on our Plan Commission for several years before joining the Village Board. Larry also served as its Chairman and Elaine previously was a member of the Village’s comprehensive plan task force. Bill has been one of our most valuable trustees over the years and has guided us with his financial acumen on important economics from time to time.

All three of them are highly accomplished and are deserving of your votes.

Dear Friends and Neighbors:

In the upcoming municipal election on April 4, 2023, we will be voting for three Village Trustees. The Village of Deerfield Caucus has endorsed the following slate of candidates:

• Larry Berg for Trustee
• Bill Seiden for Trustee
• Elaine Jacoby for Trustee

These candidates were vetted by the Village Caucus and received our endorsement after completing a rigorous process that included answering a detailed questionnaire, a face-to-face interview with our nominating committee, and finally, receiving the official endorsement at the Town Hall meeting. The meeting was held November 15, 2022 and attended by over 120 registered voters.

The Caucus believes the slate of Larry Berg, Bill Seiden and Elaine Jacoby represent the proven dedication and the experience, along with fresh ideas, to serve the community in the coming years.

Thank you for consideration and don’t forget to vote April 4th. Early voting is available beginning March 20th at Deerspring Pool.

(The Village Caucus has been in existence since 1956. It is a non-partisan group made up of a diverse group of resident volunteers from the Deerfield community. Its goal is to identify the candidates are qualified, knowledgeable, and well versed on the issues affecting the Village of Deerfield.)

The Village is very lucky to have so many qualified candidates willing to volunteer. However, we have 6 candidates who submitted their applications for only 3 Trustee positions. Therefore, the Nominating Committee had the difficult task of narrowing the field and endorsing only 3 people. The Nominating Committee submitted their report to the Advisory Committee endorsing the following people:

• Elaine Jacoby
• Larry Berg
• Bill Seiden
