The Parks & Recreation Department operates 4 recreational centers, 14 parks, 24 ball fields, an outdoor Olympic-sized swimming pool with diving well, 6 lighted tennis courts, 2 outdoor racquetball courts, a sand volleyball court, a gym with 2 indoor racquetball courts, a full service weight room and a full size basketball court.

We heard you, Deer Park! Full-court basketball is coming to the Dow Active Complex.

Get your squad together and get ready for 5v5 Full Court Competitive Basketball at the DAC. This league is built for players looking for fast-paced, competitive play, teamwork, and a chance to battle it out on the full court.

Games take place Friday nights beginning at 6:00 PM, with league play starting October 2 and continuing for five weeks. Then the competition turns up another level on November 6, when the top six teams advance to the end-of-season tournament to compete for the finish.

Teams can secure their spot with payment, and individual players don’t have to sit this one out. Free agents can submit a form at bit.ly/3UUCF8b to connect with a team.

Pack your sense of adventure and join Deer Park Parks & Recreation for the Texas Outdoor Family Campout at Lake Livingston State Park!

This one-night campout is a great opportunity to spend time outdoors without needing to own all the camping gear yourself.

Please join us in congratulating Bob, our Part-Time Employee of the Month!

Bob has been an important part of the Athletics Division since joining our team in 2021. As a PT Fitness Aide, he has become a familiar and friendly face to patrons at both the Dow Active Complex and Avon.

Dependable, hardworking, and always willing to lend a hand, Bob consistently goes above and beyond to keep the fitness floor clean, organized, and welcoming for our community. Whether he is helping a patron, supporting a coworker, promoting one of our programs, or jumping in wherever he is needed, Bob brings a positive attitude and strong work ethic to everything he does.

His outgoing personality and genuine care for our patrons have made him a favorite among both staff and community members.
