During Older Americans Month, we’re proud to highlight our partnership with the Retired Senior Volunteer Program (Northeast Iowa RSVP) —a program that connects dedicated older adults with meaningful opportunities to serve their communities.

Through RSVP, volunteers bring experience, reliability, and a deep commitment to helping others. Their contributions make a real difference every day—from supporting food pantries to strengthening essential community programs.

At NEICAC, we are grateful for this partnership, which helps us meet community needs while also creating opportunities for older adults to stay active, connected, and engaged.

This May, we celebrate the lasting impact of older Americans and the vital role programs like RSVP play in empowering individuals to continue making a difference. 💙

Northeast Iowa RSVP and the American Red Cross recently held the Battle of the Badges blood drive on May 8th. This blood drive entails a friendly competition between WinnMed EMS, Decorah Volunteer Fire Department, and local law enforcement Winneshiek County Sheriff's Office and Decorah Police Department. When you give blood at this drive, you are able to vote for your favorite group and there is a traveling trophy to the winner. EMS won the most votes at the most recent drive!

In the last few weeks we had our Pen Pal Celebrations for both Howard and Winneshiek County! There are so many amazing pictures, it was hard to just pick a few. Thank you to all our pen pals and all the participating schools. We appreciate you!!❤️

Linda Jones, Volunteer Coordinator for Clayton and northern Fayette Counties presents Fraud Fighters. We partner with the Iowa Department of Insurance and Financial Services to present this curriculum. Let us know if you have a group you would like us to present to.

Approximately 50 residents were educated Tuesday, April 28, on common scams and further details regarding con artists trying to obtain money from citizens, and how people can better protect themselves
