Decatur Public Schools held a court dedication ceremony tonight in honor of Vernon Austin, lifelong supporter of Decatur Schools. Thank you to everyone who attended and helped us to honor Vernon. On our court you will find a permanent display which will serve as a reminder of Vernon’s lasting legacy of leadership and service.

Our Senior Class is selling tacos and agua fresca! Tacos are 3 for $12, plus a drink of your choice. Use the link in the comments to order. Orders must be placed using the form by 10:00am on Tuesday, September 8th.

Volleyball and Flag Football sign-ups with the Boys and Girls Club have closed.

At this time, we did not receive enough interest for a 2nd-3rd grade or 4th-6th grade Flag Football Team. We will have a Flag Football team for Kindergarten-1st grade and the coach will reach out soon.

Celebrate the natural beauty and vibrant communities of western Benton County with a scenic 50-mile or 25-mile bike ride through the countryside connecting Sulphur Springs, Decatur, and Siloam Springs, along with a 5K run through downtown Siloam Springs.

Decatur School District will hold a formal court dedication ceremony on September 8th, 2026 at the Peterson-Owens Gymnasium to honor the memory and legacy of Vernon Austin, lifelong Decatur resident and passionate supporter of Decatur Schools. The ceremony will take place between the junior varsity and varsity volleyball games and will formally recognize Austin’s lasting impression on generations of students, families, educators, and community members.

This special dedication event will celebrate Mr. Austin's decades of deep-rooted devotion to Decatur, where he proudly lived, raised his family, and supported generations of Bulldog students. To commemorate his impact on local youth programs and the community at large, his name will be permanently displayed on the district's athletic court.

Decatur Schools will be closed Friday, September 4th, 2026 for Labor Day. School will resume on Tuesday, September 8th. Enjoy your extended weekend!
