The power may be out, but our mission continues!

Yesterday, we received notice from Ameren that a scheduled power outage would impact Good Samaritan Inn during our regular lunch service today.

While this meant making some last-minute changes, we knew we needed to find a way to continue serving our neighbors safely.

Instead of our traditional meal service, we’re providing sack lunches today to ensure our community still has access to a meal.

Thanks to our incredible volunteers, more than 200 sack lunches have been packed and prepared for our neighbors!

We’re especially grateful to the volunteers who stepped up and helped us make this adjustment on such short notice. Their willingness to adapt and lend a hand is just one example of what makes our community so special.

Today’s meal service may look a little different, but our commitment to nourishing our neighbors remains the same.

Even laundry plays a role in nourishing our neighbors!

Every day, our staff and volunteers go through countless aprons while preparing and serving meals to our community. With so many helping hands in our kitchen, the laundry piles up quickly!

Having on-site laundry facilities helps us keep clean aprons ready, maintain food safety, and keep our kitchen running smoothly.

It may seem like a small detail, but it's one of the many behind-the-scenes essentials that keep our mission moving forward.

Because nourishing our neighbors takes more than just food!

Our mural at Mercy Gardens is officially complete, bringing a beautiful splash of creativity and community pride to the garden!

A huge thank you to Drew Burger of Low Key Studios for bringing this incredible artwork to life and helping make Mercy Gardens an even more welcoming space for our neighbors.
