We are excited that the Extended Day Program will launch at each site on September 7, 2021!
Due to transportation challenges with our to/from student transportation routes, the program will launch without transportation home on September 7, 2021. More information to come in September on when transportation will be added.

We are still hiring to fill the needs of the high enrollment. If interested, please apply at www.dps61.org/employment.
Also, parents should log-in and declare in the https://www.ezchildtrack.com/dpsextendedday/parent system the days/am that will be needed for their child(ren) for the week of September 7th by September 2, 2021. Parents will need to declare each week by Thursday at 5pm for the upcoming week. This allows the site coordinator time to schedule staff, meal preparation, etc. for the upcoming week.

The DPS Board of Education has initiated its search for a new superintendent of schools. The Board wants to hear your thoughts about the strengths of our schools, the challenges the district currently faces, what the new leader’s priorities should be, and the professional and personal characteristics you would like our next superintendent to have.

DPS now has an app to give you real-time alerts and location information for your student's bus ride to and from school!

The Edulog Parent Portal app will show you the GPS location of your student's bus and send you a push notification when it's nearing your student's bus stop. You can also receive time-sensitive messages from our transportation department, for example, if your student’s bus is running late. The Macon Co. Health Dept. will host COVID-19 vaccination clinics at both DPS high schools during Open House night on Thursday, August 19 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.

We’re encouraging everyone ages 12+ to get vaccinated. Fully vaccinated students and staff who are not showing any COVID symptoms do not currently have to quarantine if they are exposed to a positive case. Anyone ages 12+ can get a vaccination during this clinic, but those under 18 must be with a parent or guardian, or have a signed proxy note.

IMPORTANT REMINDER: Masks must be worn indoors by all students, teachers, staff, and visitors in DPS schools, regardless of their vaccination status. Masks are also required at all times on buses and for indoor extracurricular activities and sports.

At this time, parents will not have to complete daily health certification for students. These guidelines could change at any time, we’ll be sure to keep you updated of any changes.
