When the wildfire danger is high, success doesn’t belong to one department — it belongs to the team.

Over the past several days, conditions across our area have deteriorated, and several fires have reminded us just how critical mutual aid and strong working relationships are.

As evidenced in this picture, sometimes it comes down to being in the right place at the right time, and when that happens, the difference is made by crews who trust each other and move as one.

We would like to bring attention to the outstanding teamwork and rapid response from our partners:

• Wise County EMS & Rescue
• Wise County Emergency Services District 3 – Brush 128
• Parker County Emergency Services District 1– Engine 46, Brush 46, Engine 47, Brush 47, Battalion 101

Quick action, shared resources, and constant communication are what keep small fires from becoming large ones.

This is what mutual aid is all about — neighbors helping neighbors, departments backing each other up, and everyone going home safe at the end of the day.

A reminder: the 90-day full outdoor burning ban is currently in effect. Please do your part to help prevent new fires from starting during these high-risk conditions.
