It's football season y'all! 🏉 Good luck tonight Decatur Eagles! We hope flying the ball around town and landing on the 50 yard line to deliver it to y'all brings all the town spirit you need to take down the Denison Yellow Jackets tonight! Our crew got an extra special treat when they stopped by the airport for fuel as well. Thank you to the Sky Crane Brenda and her crew for helping us get some awesome shots as the crew returned to base.

Have you ever wondered what our crews do when we are not needed on a call? TRAINING! Our crews understand that practice makes perfect and the only way to stay up to date on current best practices is to push ourselves and our teammates. Scenarios and table top discussions happen all the time at our base and we seek out addition training sessions with local EMS and hospitals to help learn new information and reinforce information and skills that we may not use every day. Thank you to all of our friends that invite, include and reach out to us with all of the educational opportunities! Big shout out to Medical City Decatur for allowing us to join in on their training this morning, Wise County EMS & Rescue for including us in their ECMO and PE thrombectomy education last week, and Texas Health for all of the invitations, including an OB training session coming up soon! We truly appreciate all of our local partners ❤️

Yesterday was flight paramedic Nate's first day at AE68 on flight status. Early this morning he got his first patient flight and earned his wings with his partner Jennifer Ansley and pilot Jimmy Payton, on his Birthday! Welcome to the family Nate, and Happy Birthday! 🎂🚁

Yesterday our crews were busy! Thank you for the transfer request Medical City Decatur and scene flight request Wise County ESD #3! We even got to test out the new helipad lights at Medical City Denton, very nice!🚁🚑🏨

Guess what time it is?! Its monthly base safety meeting day! This month we discussed safe scene landing and night vision goggle usage. We celebrated our fearless leader's 10yr Anniversary with Air Evac, Congratulations Michael Cosentino! We had some education about antihypertensive medications and even got some hands-on refresher training with our Kendrick Traction Device. Keep your eyes out for our upcoming PR events as we look forward to slightly cooler weather, helpfully 🤞

This week our newest paramedic is learning from our crews and preparing for Critical Care Academy next week. Part of his training includes a mock patient flight which he successfully completed this evening with our Base Clinical Lead Jennifer Ansley. Mock patient flights allow our new team members to learn the logistics and safety of how each call is ran in a low-stress, slow and steady situation. Nate will be ready to take on his first patient flight very soon! Thank you to Zach, our mock patient, who played his part well and got to see a nice view on the way to the airport 🚁
