Only a few more days left to turn in those old Christmas Lights. Information is below on the flyer. Please note the rules about turning them in.
If the lights work and are just not wanted please indicate it with a label of some sort. We have already identified many sets of working lights, and will be setting up an event for people to come in and grab free lights in the near future. Recycle and Reuse! 😉

Macon County is aware that many of the Recycle Dumpsters in many towns have not been picked up as scheduled. We had a malfunction with the trailer used to pick them up, and it is currently being worked on and getting fixed. Please be patient and we will resume pickups as soon as possible.

We have one more collection for Paint and Electronics this year and it will be on the 27th of December. Please note on the flyer that we only do Collections on Tuesdays and Thursdays from April to September. We do not require appointments anymore. We do not accept batteries at this time. We will announce when we will start allowing battery drop offs. No household hazardous waste is allowed for drop off at this event. No spray paint is allowed. TVs of any size are allowed. TVs and Microwaves are the only things we charge for disposal of. No white goods are allowed.

If you have not downloaded our new App please do. It is called Recycle Coach and our calendar for the year is uploaded there whenever an event is scheduled! This is a great tool for you to have since sometimes we only do some of these events once or twice a year. You can set reminders on your phone to pop up and make sure that you do not miss out!

Macon County is now collecting used and unwanted Christmas lights. The container is located outside our warehouse at 151 W. Wood st. Please see the flyer for details.

Macon County Environmental will be hosting our Monthly Paint and Electronics Recycling event this Saturday the 22nd of November from 8am to 12pm. The address is 151 W Wood St. in Decatur. We will have this one and one more on December 27th and that will be the end of the recycle program for this year until next Spring so come on down and give us your electronics or Paint.
