The purpose of the Morgan County Child Advocacy Center (CAC) is to provide help and healing to children. Our vision is that no child who has experienced abuse will have to suffer in silence. The mission of the Morgan County Child Advocacy Center’s Multidisciplinary Team, which is comprised of the District Attorney and his staff, law enforcement, the Department of Human Resources, and medical and m
ental health providers, is to provide excellence in the investigation, prosecution, and treatment of child abuse. The CAC provides a safe and caring environment for children and their caregivers. The CAC provides services to children and adolescents who have been sexually abused, physically abused, and/or exposed to domestic violence. The Morgan County CAC has three main program areas which include forensic interviews and extended forensic interviews, victim advocacy, and therapy. The CAC is currently funded through grants and appropriations from the Alabama Department of Economic Affairs, the Alabama Network of Child Advocacy Centers, the National Children’s Alliance, United Way, the City of Decatur, the City of Hartselle, the Morgan County Commission, the Combined Federal Campaign, and donations by individuals and businesses. Community support is critical to the continued success and growth of the CAC.
