This past weekend (Feb 21-23) we had an exciting weekend full of quality training alongside our sister company, A “Chaos” Company!

Our primary training tasks were Hand Gr***de Qualification & Assaulting/Denfending an Objective. Soldiers reiterated basic Army Warrior Tasks (AWT) & had the opportunity to throw simulation grenades & utilize chalk simulation ammunition with their rifles! Much like playing paintball, the chalk rounds are designed to disintegrate upon impact and the Soldiers were required to wear full uniform & PPE.

However, SPC Flores (1st Platoon) did sustain a minor injury from a chalk round while pulling her mask down during engagement. PFC Garcia (A Company) was also injureed but both were treated immediately & sent back to training!

While minor training accidents do happen, it is sometimes the price we pay while training to defend our wonderful nation. A minor injury while training is an easy lesson learned. Those lessons refine how we operate on the battlefield and preserve us from learning the hard way, when lives are on the line.

Lastly, the Soldiers were treated on Sunday with free coffee bags from Black Rifle Coffee Company of Benbrook, TX, after their annual “Battle of the Branches” coffee drive! We all know Soldiers live off of caffeine- especially during our field training exercises- so the contributions are greatly appreciated!!

On January 5th, at Fort Wolters, Texas, outgoing B Company Commander, Captain Patrick G Hussey relinquished his command to the incoming Commander, Captain Cory M Ricci, during the Army’s long-time tradition of the Change of Command Ceremony. Captain Hussey has commanded B Company & its Soldiers since November 2022 and leaves a legacy of dedication and selfless service every Soldier hopes to see in a Commanding Officer. We thank his wife, Dr. Amy Hussey for her commitment to his service and for allowing B Company to take so much of his time and attention from their family. Thank you to the Hussey family for everything you’ve given B Company.

As we welcome Captain Ricci, we also welcome his wife, Hanna, and their children to the B Company family! We look forward to the accomplishments and adventures ahead and we hope to continue B Company’s legacy as the best in the 156th Brigade Engineer Battalion.

B Co/156th BEB Soldiers and their families had an incredible turnout for the 1st Annual Holiday Dinner Unit Fundraiser! We raised $2540 for our Unit Fund that will be used to support Soldiers & their families during life events ranging from catastrophes to celebrations.

Thank you to the Soldiers & families who supported and came out to join us, including our Battalion Commander, Lt. Colonel (LTC) Ghinelli, and our Battalion Sergeant Major, Sergeant Major (SGM) Warfield. Thank you to our Commander's wife, Dr. Amy Hussey, for her support during the planning and assembly of the party. Thank you to our Soldier & Family Readiness Group (SFRG) Coordinator, Jazmin Browder for her relentless efforts in coordinating, planning, and executing the best Christmas party BAD Company has ever seen! Thank you to Santa for stopping by to make sure the kids received their gifts and had a chance to share all of their Christmas wishes. Thank you to Pulse Turnkey- Formerly Texas Solar Solutions for donating gifts to all of the children in attendance. Lastly, I'd like to thank all of the businesses and organizations who contributed to our raffle to enable us to raise so much money for our Unit Fund:

Resting B Face Aesthetics, Where The Heart Is Designs, Photography by Angèle, Williams Daughter Photography, Decatur Golf Club, RB Golf Club & Resort, The Stoic Barbershop, Texas Rangers, Dallas Mavericks, Trendy Rebel Boutique, Iris Rain, Fort Worth Zoo, Vixen Esthetics, Shoot Smart, BigShots Golf Fort Worth, Academy Sports + Outdoors, & Pretty Hurts HQ.

A notable thanks to CPT Hussey, 1SG Holder, and SFC Boeck for offering themselves up as a raffle item to be pied! The Soldiers had, arguably, too much fun with that opportunity! That was truly memorable and we have feeling it will become a tradition for B Co.

Please take a moment to go like, follow, and support the above businesses who chose to selflessly support those who keep this country safe! We wish you all a Happy Holiday and a Wonderful New Year!

December Promotions for Sergeant First Class (SFC) Eric L Boeck, 1st Lieutenant (1LT) Kaleb L Williams, & Specialist (SPC) Jackson C Webb. Congrats, Gentlemen!

Promotion is a time to celebrate an individual's hard work, dedication, and achievement. It's tradition to do so not only with peers or a mentor but especially with family. As the old rank is removed and the new rank is "pinned" upon the Soldier, it's the responsibility of the person pinning the Soldier to make sure it's really on there. While this tradition has varied over the years due to changes in the uniform designs, there has always been a degree of punching involved.

Who do you think did the best job? Which one do you think is married to the Senior Enlisted Soldier? Hint: She has a mean right jab.

Today, CPT Hussey and I had the pleasure of picking up 32 gifts (nearly $600 worth) generously donated by this wonderful company! These gifts will be handed out by Santa at our Christmas Dinner, to the 32 military kids who are attending. Having an opportunity to give back to our military families this holiday season is absolutely priceless! We look forward to the dinner but most of all the raffle so don’t forget to buy some tickets!! 🎟️
