💙 Community Update on donations 💙

We’ve received a lot of inquiries about our current needs for water, electrolyte drinks, snacks, and other supplies.

We are currently extremely well stocked on all of these items, and we’ve even been able to share supplies with some of our mutual aid partners. ❤️

🚨 UPDATE: COMMERCIAL STRUCTURE FIRE

The fire was contained to the roaster, and crews have cleared the scene at approximately 12:27

We are currently on scene investigating a reported commercial structure fire at 110 N. Trinity Street on the square. Please avoid the area and allow our crews room to work. We will provide updates as more information becomes available.

Quick update: Our crews remain on scene of the grass fire north of Decatur. They have been working continuously since the fire was dispatched 12 hours ago and are continuing to work diligently to make sure the area is safe.

Texas A&M Forest Service is also on scene, and crews continue to work and mitigate the remaining threats so they can safely wrap up for the night and get some much-needed rest.

We are so thankful for everyone’s thoughts, prayers, and continued support. ❤️‍🔥🙏

We know there are groups working on water donations for our department, as well as for other departments in the area. We want you to know that our department is very blessed with donations, so please consider supporting our neighbors as well. ❤️

We’ve also been asked for donation ideas outside of water. Some things our crews always appreciate:
• Beef jerky
• Granola bars
• Protein bars
• individual snack packages (crackers, cookies)
• Peanut butter crackers
• Cheese crackers
• Electrolyte packets

Thank you to everyone who has donated to us or to your local fire department. Your generosity means so much to our crews, and we truly appreciate you! 🚒❤️

We have so many people to thank for their help with the large grass fire off FM 51 just north of Decatur. With so many responders on scene, we don’t want to leave anyone out. We are incredibly thankful for each and every person who helped. We’ll share a full list of responding agencies tomorrow.

We’d also like to give a special thank you to Lori Donald with SignWise for supplying our crews with 80 Subway sandwiches. First United Methodist Church also brought sandwiches, snacks, and Gatorade for our crews.

The support from our community means so much to us. Thank you all for taking care of our firefighters while they take care of our community! ❤️🚒
