๐ September is Kinship Care Month, and this Sunday is National Grandparents Day - two things that belong in the same conversation.
When a child can't safely stay at home, being placed with someone they already know and love - a grandparent, relative, or close family friend - can help them stay connected to their people, history, and sense of familiarity.
Across our communities, grandparents and relatives step into unexpected roles, rearranging their lives to provide love, stability, and a safe place for a child to grow.
It's not always easy, and much of that sacrifice happens quietly.
So this weekend, we're saying thank you to every grandparent, relative, and kinship caregiver in Wise and Jack Counties. Your willingness to step up makes a lasting difference in the lives of children. ๐
