City of Decatur Parks & Recreation facilities will be closed on Monday, September 7, in observance of Labor Day.

Glenlake Pool will be open over the holiday weekend.

All City offices and facilities will reopen for regular business hours on Tuesday, September 8.

We wish everyone a safe and enjoyable holiday weekend!

The City of Decatur is launching a citywide Speed Study to evaluate opportunities to reduce posted speed limits on City-owned streets currently signed above 25 mph.

Join us for the first of three public meetings to learn about the study, the project process and how speed management can help create safe streets for all. The first meeting will be Thursday, September 10 at 6 p.m. at the Decatur Recreation Center.

As part of the study, you may notice black tubes across some streets and cameras at select locations throughout the city. These tools are collecting data on vehicle volumes, speeds, vehicle types, and bicycle and pedestrian activity to help inform the study.

Kids can enjoy an evening of sports, games, crafts, group challenges, and plenty of fun with friends.

Youth Basketball
Coed and girls leagues for ages 6U-17U, with practices beginning November 9 and games beginning December 5.

Cheerleading
Grades 1-6 can build confidence, teamwork, and cheer skills while supporting our youth basketball teams.

Fall Break Camps & Clinics
September 21-25 • Small Fry Sports, Imagination Adventure, Smart Tech Camp, Real World Robotics, Soccer & Futsal, and K-Pop Demon Hunters.

Forward SK8 School
September 24-October 29 • Thursdays • Ages 5-12
Beginner and intermediate skaters can build skills and confidence through small-group instruction at McKoy Skate Park.

Ebster Pool will close to the public for the season earlier than planned due to the start of construction of the Ebster Park Outdoor Teen Recreation Area.

Please note that the pool will remain open for scheduled Fall Swim Team practices.
