This week, we want to take a moment to recognize the voices behind every call for help — the men and women at Morgan County 911.

You don’t get to see the outcome of every call, but we do — and we see the difference you make every single day.

You’re the calm voice when someone is having the worst moment of their life.

You’re the one gathering the details, keeping things organized, and making sure help gets where it needs to go
You’re the steady presence behind the scenes that keeps all of us moving.

We hear you on the radio when things get chaotic — and you never lose control.

We may be the ones on the ambulance, but none of it happens without you.

From all of us at Decatur Morgan EMS — thank you for your patience, your professionalism, and the care you show to every caller and every responder.

PLANNED DRILL: Prom season is here, and our top priority is ensuring that students celebrate this milestone safely. To emphasize the importance of responsible decision-making, Decatur High School- Decatur, Al will hold a Prom Promise simulation on Monday, April 13, starting at 1:30 p.m.

This event will provide a realistic demonstration of the consequences of impaired or distracted driving. We want to be fully transparent about what you can expect to see and hear on campus.

There will be a large presence of emergency vehicles, including law enforcement, fire trucks, and ambulances. The simulation will depict a mock accident involving student actors and “damaged” vehicles. Emergency responders will treat the scene as a live call, which may include the use of sirens, lights, and loud communication.

We want to ensure that no one is caught off guard. If you live near the school or notice social media posts about “emergency activity” on campus, please know this is a planned drill—not a real emergency.

We kindly ask for your help in sharing this information to prevent unnecessary concern.
