Business owners, are you filing your taxes electronically?

The City of Decatur is using the electronic filing and payment service called My Alabama Taxes (“MAT”) and we would like to encourage you to file your taxes through this system.

Most of you are already using this site to file your taxes for the State of Alabama and some local jurisdictions. The site can be accessed through the Alabama Department of Revenue website at: http://www.revenue.alabama.gov/.

Please add Decatur as a locality (9152) and select the type(s) of tax you file with Decatur. Please enter your jurisdiction account number for Decatur which is the same as your taxpayer ID number with us.

If you need assistance, you may contact Alabama Department of Revenue at 1-866-353-3468.

THANKSGIVING HOLIDAY: The offices of the City of Decatur will be closed in observance of the Thanksgiving holiday on Thursday, November 25 and Friday, November 26.

Garbage Collection: Thursday’s route will run on Friday, November 26. Friday’s route will run on Monday, November 29.

Recycling Collection: Thursday's and Friday's blue routes will run on Monday, November 29 for recycling collection.

Leaf Collection: Leaf collection will be paused on Thursday, November 25 and Friday, November 26 in observance of the holiday.

The two requirements that must be met before a license can be issued are:

1️⃣A letter of approval from the Morgan County Health Department

2️⃣A letter of approval following a vehicle inspection by the City of Decatur Fire Marshall

🟨 The renewal period will begin on January 3, 2022.
🟨 License renewals are due by January 31, 2022.
