Property Value Notices will be mailed next week.

If you do not receive a notice, it may indicate that your property value decreased this year or stayed the same as last year. However, you still have the right to file a protest if you disagree with your value.

If you did not receive a notice, the deadline to file a protest is May 15.

If you did receive a notice, you have 30 days from the date on the protest.

If you have questions about your value or the protest process, please contact our office. We are here to help.

As a reminder, our appraisers are out in the field appraising for the 2026 tax year.

They should have signs like the one pictured on their cars to identify them.

Please feel free to call the office at (940) 627-3081 if you have any questions or concerns.

08/14/2025

Starting next week, you should begin seeing the appraisers responsible for your area out and about.

We are in the data collection phase of our cycle. If you have conditions you would like us to consider as we appraise your property, now is a good time to reach out and schedule an inspection.

Just a reminder as protest season is upon us.

It's that time of year once more!
Appraisers are in the field collecting data. All CAD appraisers will respect closed gates, no trespassing postings, and purple posts. If we need access to your property, we will contact you requesting access.

We also understand the desire for privacy and the reluctance to trust governmental entities. Nevertheless, allowing us to inspect and measure new improvements helps you ensure we are accurately assessing property.

Yes, we do get aerial images yearly. However, measuring a rooftop from these images doesn't account for eaves and other indentations, which could result in an overestimate of the square footage of the property.

We thank you in advance for your assistance.

By now, some of you will have received your Notice of Appraised Value statements. If you haven't yet, you should be shortly. In the event that you do not receive a statement, feel free to call us. When there is no change in value, or the change is below a certain threshold, we are not required to send notice. However, if you don't receive a notice, it never hurts to double check to make sure we have your correct mailing address or some other similar issue.
You'll notice that there is no tax estimate on your notices. You can go to:
https://wise.countytaxrates.com/tax and search by your name or property id. Although the 2023 values may not be up, you can use the tax rates given there to figure out an estimate.
In addition, you can go to https://wise-cad.com/ and within the next few days those numbers should be available.
Should you decide to file a protest, you can do so online, by filing out the form on the back of the Notice, or coming in to the office.
Thank you for your patience during this time. We know that receiving notices can be stressful. We are here to help as much as we can.
