Dearborn CERT

Dearborn CERT This is the City of Dearborn's CERT Page The Whittier Narrows earthquake in 1987 underscored the area-wide threat of a major disaster in California.

The Community Emergency Response Team concept was developed and implemented by the Los Angeles City Fire Department (LAFD) in 1985. Further, it confirmed the need for training civilians to meet their immediate needs. As a result, the LAFD created the Disaster Preparedness Division with the purpose of training citizens and private and government employees. The City of Dearborn's CERT Team was found

ed by Captain Brad Smith
of the Dearborn Fire Department in 2005. To help the public safety agencies thoughout Wayne County and to train citizens to be better prepared during a disaster.

While the cars have changed over the years, our dedication to serving the Dearborn community remains stronger than ever. ๐Ÿ’™
