NOTICE TO VOTERS: GENERAL ELECTION BALLOT

The write-in candidates in the Board of County Commissioners, District 2 and District 4 races have withdrawn. As a result, the remaining candidate in each race is now unopposed.

Why will these races still appear on the ballot?

The ballots and sample ballots were already finalized and are in production. Because the withdrawals occurred after that process was complete, the County Commissioner, District 2 and District 4 races will appear on the ballots and sample ballots.

A vote in either race will not change the outcome, and no election results will be reported for these contests.

Pursuant to guidance from the Florida Department of State, the following notices to voters are being posted:

NOTICE TO THE VOTER

The write-in candidate in the race for the office of Board of County Commissioners, District 2 has withdrawn resulting in an unopposed candidate race. A vote cast in this race will not change the outcome as the remaining candidate is deemed by law to be elected for that race.

NOTICE TO THE VOTER

The write-in candidates in the race for the office of Board of County Commissioners, District 4 have withdrawn resulting in an unopposed candidate race. A vote cast in this race will not change the outcome as the remaining candidate is deemed by law to be elected for that race.

๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ THANK YOU, WALTON COUNTY! ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ

As we wrap up the 2026 Primary Election, I want to express my sincere appreciation to everyone who helped make this election possible.

First, thank you to the voters of Walton County who participated and made your voices heard.

I am especially proud of what I believe is the best elections team and the best election workers anywhere. Our staff, election workers at the polls, canvassing board members, law enforcement officers, county employees, polling place hosts, and so many others worked long hours and many days straight to help make this election run smoothly. On Election Day, most were working before sunrise and long after the polls closed. I cannot thank them enough for their dedication and service to Walton County.

While turnout is generally lower in midterm Primary Elections, Walton County surpassed the statewide turnout average and finished right in line with our historical midterm Primary participation levels. We also continued to see strong growth in early in-person voting, setting new records for a midterm Primary.

Our team worked hard to get results to you as quickly as possible. Approximately 51% of all votes were reported by 7:10 p.m., nearly 98% by 7:35 p.m., and final results for the night were posted at 8:14 p.m. That takes tremendous coordination from our election workers and staff.

From start to finish, our goal is simple: to conduct an election that the voters of Walton County can have confidence in and be proud of. I am incredibly proud of our team and the work they put into accomplishing that mission.

I also want to recognize every candidate who put their name on the ballot. Campaigning requires a tremendous commitment of time, energy, and personal sacrifice. Regardless of the outcome, each candidate stepped forward to serve and gave voters a choice. Thank you for your willingness to serve our community.

There is still work to be done before this election is officially complete, but we are wrapping up the Primary and turning our attention toward the November 3 General Election.

To everyone who played a part in making this election possible, THANK YOU! ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ
