🤝 The City of De Pere is excited to introduce “Belonging in Action: See a Sign. Lend a Hand.,” a year-round neighbor-to-neighbor support initiative designed to strengthen community pride, belonging and mutual assistance across the City. The program encourages residents to lend a hand with simple seasonal outdoor tasks, such as snow shoveling, lawn mowing and basic yard care, by making it easier to identify where help is needed. ❄️🌱

🏡 How does it work?
This initiative is centered around yard signs that residents can place in front of their homes whenever they would welcome support.

The signs are labeled “Snow Help Needed Here” on one side and “Lawn Help Needed Here” on the other, allowing residents to flip the sign seasonally depending on their needs.

These signs act as a simple, visible invitation for neighbors and community volunteers to help when they are able and serve as a reminder of De Pere’s shared commitment to inclusion, connection and looking out for one another. ❤️

🎯 Program Goals:
• Foster belonging and connection among De Pere residents.
• Provide practical, seasonal outdoor assistance for community members who need support.

📣 The program is fully voluntary and designed to help neighbors connect directly with one another.
The City of De Pere does not coordinate, manage, or screen any volunteers involved. Instead, the city and the Chamber simply provide yard signs that residents can use to show when they could use a helping hand.

📍 Where can I get a sign?
Residents can pick up yard signs at De Pere City Hall (in the Health Department) or the De Pere Area Chamber of Commerce.

❄️☀️ The program is designed to activate neighborly support through both winter and warm-weather seasons. With Belonging in Action, De Pere aims to make helping one another not only accessible, but part of the City’s everyday culture. The simple act of helping a neighbor strengthens the safety, inclusion and connection that define .

💙 The City extends its gratitude to the program’s community partners, NeighborWorks Green Bay, the De Pere Area Chamber and Molina Healthcare, whose support helps bring this initiative to life.
