Springfield Delco Police Department The Springfield Township Police Dept is a 35 member Municipal Police Force in Delaware County, PA.

Springfield Township, Delaware County, PA is located about 12 miles west of Center City, Philadelphia and has a population of approximately 24,000. Covering 6.5 square miles, Springfield is mainly residential but boasts one of the major hubs of commerce in Delaware County along the Golden Mile of Baltimore Pk. Springfield Township Police Department currently employs 34 full-time sworn officers, 1 full-time civilian Information Assistants, 1 full-time and 2 part-time Records division clerks, 12 part-time civilian Turn-Keys, and approximately 30 crossing guards. We are the first Law Enforcement Agency in Delaware County, PA to be accredited. Emergency calls for service are taken by Delaware County Emergency Communications Center who then dispatch police.

Today we were formally approved for our 4th Pennsylvania Law Enforcement Accreditation Commission (PLEAC) reaccreditation and granted Premier Agency Status by the Commission.

We thank PLEAC for this consideration and are very proud and grateful for our officers who work everyday to adhere to standards and maintain compliance.

10-13-26 1938 hrs.
A 50 yr. old female from Folsom will be charged with Retail Theft for stealing over $341 worth of beauty
products from Target at the mall.
10-14-26 1020 hrs.
A resident was the victim of a scam in which a phone call from a person claiming to be from a credit card
company claimed that a fraudulent transaction occurred on the resident’s account and to fix it the
company would transfer money to his bank account but then the resident would withdraw the money
and hand it to a courier in the parking lot.
10-14-26 1418 hrs.
A resident was the victim of a scam in which a caller posing as PECO convinced the resident to cancel his
alternative electric supplier and move back to PECO. The change was said to include a cancel fee and to
pay the cancel fee, the resident would have to purchase gift cards and provide the card numbers and
PINS to the caller.
10-17-26 1705 hrs.
A 44 yr. old male from Upper Darby will be charged with Retail Theft. He selected over $279 worth of
clothing at Target at the mall and attempted to get cash by returning the items to customer service.
When denied, he put the clothing in a bag and tried to leave the store.

At last evening’s Springfield Township Board of Commissioner’s meeting we honored Ofc Brad Lord, Jen Ryan, and Sabold Elementary School nurse Helene Stretch for their quick actions helping Madison who had a medical episode while in the Sabold car line last April. Madison’s father, Evan, was also honored for his life saving actions.

Outstanding job by all. 🙏

10-5-26 1451 hrs.
A 46 yr. old female from Sharon Hill will be charged with Retail Theft after being observed by security at
Target 800 block Baltimore Pk. stealing over $255 worth of clothing, luggage and cleaning supplies.
10-5-26 2235 hrs.
Ofc. Minor observed a vehicle traveling on the 200 block Baltimore Pk. failing to display a license plate.
As he approached the driver, he observed a handgun with extended magazine on the driver’s seat. It
was found the driver did not own the gun nor did he have authority to possess a gun. The driver was
identified as Qualan Womack 18 yrs. old from Glenolden. He was charged with weapons offenses and
held for arraignment.
10-6-26 1142 hrs.
A resident of the 400 block Ridge Ln. reported that a check she had mailed at a post office did not arrive
at the proper destination but was cashed by an unknown person.
10-6-26 1835 hrs.
Target security at the mall reported a male had stolen electronics merchandise and left in a waiting
vehicle. Ofc. Owens observed the vehicle and attempted to stop it before it fled on Route 476. A short
time later, the vehicle was observed in Chester City parked. Officers responded there and found the
suspect loitering and took him into custody. Rhashaun Freeman, 26 yrs. old from Folcroft, was charged
with Retail Theft and other offenses and held for arraignment.
10-9-26 2314 hrs.
Officers responded to Red Lobster unit block Baltimore Pk. to investigate a report that a male had
skipped out on a bill and when confronted by employees, the male displayed a fi***rm. The male and
female then left the area in a vehicle.

The Springfield Police Department extends its deepest condolences to the Philadelphia Police Department on the tragic loss of Officer Shane Seiber, who was killed in the line of duty. We also extend our support to the officer who was shot and wounded, wishing him strength and a full recovery.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the officer’s family, colleagues, and the entire department during this difficult time.
