Springfield Delco Police Department The Springfield Township Police Dept is a 35 member Municipal Police Force in Delaware County, PA.

Springfield Township, Delaware County, PA is located about 12 miles west of Center City, Philadelphia and has a population of approximately 24,000. Covering 6.5 square miles, Springfield is mainly residential but boasts one of the major hubs of commerce in Delaware County along the Golden Mile of Baltimore Pk. Springfield Township Police Department currently employs 34 full-time sworn officers, 1

full-time civilian Information Assistants, 1 full-time and 2 part-time Records division clerks, 12 part-time civilian Turn-Keys, and approximately 30 crossing guards. We are the first Law Enforcement Agency in Delaware County, PA to be accredited. Emergency calls for service are taken by Delaware County Emergency Communications Center who then dispatch police.

The Municipal Parking Lot (behind Wawa) will be closed for the Dining on Saxer event, which is scheduled for Wednesday, 6/17.

*Parking lot closure begins on 6/17, at 7:00am. All vehicles must be removed.

*Road closure and parking restrictions along Saxer Ave will begin on 6/17, at 3:00pm.

UPDATE (6/13/26)

Due to predictions of very heavy storms tomorrow June 14, 2026, the Flag Day event at Old Central School is postponed until 7 PM Monday evening June 15, 2026.

In observation of Flag Day, Springfield American Legion Post 227 will be holding a Flag Retirement Ceremony at Old Central School on Saxer Avenue on Sunday, June 14th. The Ceremony will begin at 7:00pm. Any resident that wishes to properly dispose of a damaged or worn United States flag should plan to arrive at 6:45pm.

Flag Day commemorates the adoption of the flag of the United States on June 14, 1777, by resolution of the Second Continental Congress. The Flag Resolution stated: "Resolved, That the flag of the thirteen United States be thirteen stripes, alternate red and white; that the union be thirteen stars, white in a blue field, representing a new constellation."

Several members of our department were recognized at last nights’s Springfield Township Board of Commissioner’s meeting for their outstanding service to our community.

🏅Officer Bradley Lord was honored as the Springfield American Legion Post 227 Loyalty Day Officer of the Year.
🏅Officers Sean Clifton & Anthony Owens received Life Saving Awards for their actions in assisting a patient in cardiac arrest.
🏅Officers also received a Unit Citation for their teamwork and professionalism during a burglary investigation.

Please join us in congratulating these officers on their well-deserved recognition and thanking them for their continued dedication to serving our community.
