🌊 Your Investment at Work: Where Tax Dollars Meet Service | Beach Safety

A day at the beach may seem effortless but helping keep Volusia County’s coastline safe and accessible takes dedicated, trained personnel working every day. Beach Safety is responsible for protecting the millions of residents and visitors that come to the 47 miles of Volusia County coastline each year.

Volusia County Beach Safety keeps watch throughout the day over an ever-changing beach environment. Beachgoers can find personnel monitoring the beach environment in red lifeguard towers, stationary control towers, and patrolling the shoreline by truck, ATV, jet ski, and rescue boat. When response is needed, they perform rip current rescues, provide medical care, help reunite lost family members, and aid sick and injured marine life. Beach Safety is also responsible for monitoring beach driving lanes and beach conditions, maintaining lifesaving equipment, educating the community on water safety, and continually training so they are prepared to respond when seconds matter.

Your investment helps provide the trained personnel, equipment, and resources required to protect the residents and visitors of Volusia County’s Beaches. 🏝️
