🚧 Project Update 🚧

Construction continues to make steady progress on the seawall improvement project near the Volusia County library and Jackie Robinson Ballpark. The existing seawall cap has been removed, sheet pile installation is approximately 90% complete, and stormwater outfall improvements are nearing completion. Construction of the seawall cap and overlooks is expected to begin soon.

Thank you for your patience as we continue investing in infrastructure improvements that will help protect and enhance Daytona Beach's waterfront for years to come.

Water early in the morning or in the evening to reduce evaporation and allow water to soak into the soil. Watering during the heat of the day can waste a significant amount of water.

When watering your lawn, aim for cooler times of day to improve efficiency. If you own a pool, review the pool water efficiency guides to help prepare for warmer weather and avoid unnecessary water loss.

Conserving water helps meet future needs while protecting Florida’s springs, rivers and wetlands. A simple schedule change can make a difference.

After 27 years of dedicated service, Deputy City Manager/Fire Chief Dru Driscoll has announced his plans to retire. His final day of service will be July 24. Over the past 13 years as Fire Chief, he has helped guide the Daytona Beach Fire Department through tremendous growth and transformation, while remaining committed to the safety of the community and the well-being of our firefighters. In his retirement letter, Chief Driscoll wrote, “For 27 years, it has been my greatest privilege and honor to serve the Daytona Beach Fire Department and the City of Daytona Beach.” Those words and his actions for nearly three decades reflect the dedication and pride he brought to the job every day. We thank Chief Driscoll for his leadership and countless contributions to Daytona Beach. Please join us in congratulating him on an extraordinary career and wishing him all the best in retirement.
