💡 LIGHT UP YOUR NEIGHBORHOOD! 💡

Which of these streets, A or B, do you think is more appealing to a criminal?

Vehicle thefts and theft from vehicles are an ever-present issue in the Dayton area. YOU can help deter such activity! 💪🏻

• At MINIMUM, turn your porch lights on at night and use bright bulbs. 💡
• Light up the area of your driveway and garage. 🚗
• Uplight your property with landscaping lights
• Consider a motion-activated flood light

Criminals look for “easy” targets…dark areas where they can go undetected, unlocked vehicles 🔑 with valuables inside, etc. If you don’t have street lights on your block, the above suggestions are especially important!

🌸🎉 Another fantastic Oakwood Easter Parade is in the books!

With help from the Citizens Police Academy Alumni and Local Scouts the Oakwood FOP Lodge 107 distributed over 6,000 Easter eggs!

Huge thank you to everyone who showed up and helped make it special — this is what community is all about! 🐰✨

Looks like the weather will hold. Fingers crossed it stays nice.

The eggs are stuffed and ready for today (6,000 total). Easter Parade starts at 12pm today. Route will start on Shafor Blvd at Spirea, go to Corona and back. See you out there!

Join us this Saturday, April 4th on Shafor Blvd. between Spirea and Corona. Bring your lawn chairs or your favorite blanket and sit in the median or along the sidewalk. 6,000 eggs are already stuffed and ready to be passed out. See you out there!

Traffic Alert 🚧

In preparation for UD’s St. Patrick’s Day celebrations Saturday, March 28, several streets in the northeast section of Oakwood near campus will be restricted to local traffic only.

🚫 No through traffic
🚧 Barricades will be in place
⏰ Closures: Friday 10PM – Saturday 10PM

🚫 The Old River Sports Complex parking lot will be closed to all parking during this time.

If you’re not a resident in the area, plan an alternate route.
Do not drive around barricades — enforcement will be active.

Prepare yourselves - Santa is coming back to Oakwood on Tuesday, December 16th, 2025. Come out and wave as we drive Santa through the city. The route will begin at 6pm at Element of Oakwood.

For those curious, this is an approximately 2.5 - 3 hour route so for those that have school the next day and/or an early bedtime, try meeting us along the route. We plan to do another Facebook live stream to give our location so you know when to come out and wave!

Hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving!

On Wednesday November 26, members of Oakwood Rotary and Oakwood FOP 107 delivered a total of 86 individual Thanksgiving meals to 31 homes in the Oakwood community.

This wouldn't be possible without Dorothy Lane Market! The meals looked fantastic and we look forward to next year!
