On Friday, May 29, 2026, eight teams of volunteers from the Montgomery County Drug Free Coalition, alongside deputies from the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office and officers from the Miamisburg, Riverside, and Dayton Police Departments, participated in a GROW Blitz community outreach event throughout several Miamisburg neighborhoods.

During the event, teams engaged 144 residents in meaningful conversations about available community resources and distributed Narcan kits to 9 families. An additional 205 households received informational materials with instructions on how to connect with GROW representatives for addiction recovery, mental health support, and other community services.

Volunteers from Project DAWN also visited local businesses, securing commitments from 16 organizations to participate in Narcan training and maintain Narcan supplies.

The Montgomery County Drug Free Coalition and Montgomery County Sheriff's Office are grateful for the partnership with the City of Miamisburg and the opportunity to support Mental Health Awareness Month through proactive community engagement.

A special thank you to Liz and the team at Domino's for generously providing lunch for the volunteers and first responders who participated in the event.

✂️ Calling all hairdressers and barbers! ✂️

Our Back 2 School Bash is returning for its second year on August 2nd, and we're looking for talented volunteers to help local kids head into the new school year feeling confident and ready to go.

Thanks to our amazing volunteers, this event continues to be a success—and we couldn't do it without you. If you're willing to donate your time and skills to provide haircuts, we'd love to have you join us in making a difference for families in our community.

Stay tuned for more details, and message us if you're interested in being part of this special day!

Director Russell and Peer Supporter Kristen LaCaze had the opportunity to speak with students at the Dayton Regional STEM School this week about the rising drug trends impacting our community and the very real effects they're having on individuals and families.

Through open and honest conversation, they shared what we're seeing locally, the dangers of emerging substances, and how prevention, education, and early intervention can make a difference. They also highlighted the ongoing efforts of MCSO and the Montgomery County Drug-Free Coalition to combat substance misuse through community partnerships, outreach initiatives, and proactive enforcement.

We're grateful for the opportunity to connect with students, answer their thoughtful questions, and empower them with knowledge. Prevention starts with awareness — and these conversations matter.
