Yesterday's community ice cream social at Parker Park was a hit! It was a wonderful end to the day with nachos, lemonade, and ice cream.

We enjoyed seeing so many familiar faces and connecting with neighbors in a relaxed setting. Strong community ties help keep our city safe, and events like this are a great way for us to get to know each other.

A special thank you to Juan Carranco and the Sweet Scoops Dayton team, Whitley Dorsett and the Patients ER Dayton staff, and the Angel Lagoon staff. Stay tuned for our National Night Out events — we look forward to seeing you again soon!

The Dayton Police Department is getting ready for National Night Out, and we're looking for local businesses, organizations, churches, community groups, and others who would like to set up a table and be part of the evening!

This is a great opportunity to meet members of our community, share information about your organization or business, and help make National Night Out a fun, welcoming event for everyone.

TxDOT Traffic Alert:
The right lane of US 90 eastbound, from Rolke Road to SH 146, will be closed nightly beginning Friday, August 21, through Friday, September 4. The left lane will be closed intermittently for approximately 15 minutes while bridge beams are being lifted. Contractors will work from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. nightly. Motorists should expect delays and plan for additional travel time.
