We loved having the opportunity to welcome families into our school, give them a tour, and let them see their scholars hard at work in real time! There’s nothing better than seeing the excitement and pride on our families’ faces as they experience a glimpse of their scholar’s school day.

Congratulations to our Strive for 5 winners!

We are so proud of our scholars who are making attendance a priority! At North Dayton and NHA, our goal is for scholars to miss no more than 5 days of school each year. Being at school every day gives scholars the opportunity to learn, grow, build relationships, and stay on track toward academic excellence.

As a special reward for their great attendance, our Strive for 5 winners got to enjoy a special pizza lunch! 🍕

🦅Spirit Week is Coming to NDSD!

We’re excited to celebrate Spirit Week, September 14–18, 2026! We invite all of our scholars to join in the fun each day while remembering that regular school dress code expectations still apply. See the attached flyer for more specific details.

🎀 Monday, Sept. 14 – Barbie vs. Ken Day

🤪 Tuesday, Sept. 15 – Crazy Hair Day
*Hair accessories are allowed and welcomed but they cannot interfere with learning or score a scholars face*

👗 Wednesday, Sept. 16 – Dress for the Wrong Occasion

👩🏽‍🏫Thursday, Sept. 17 – Dress Like Your Favorite Teacher

🌙 Friday, Sept. 18 – Pajama Day

⭐ A reminder for families: Spirit Week is meant to be fun, but all regular school dress code rules still apply. Clothing must provide appropriate coverage, shoes must be worn, and outfits/accessories should not create a safety or learning concern.

If a scholar chooses not to participate then regular dress code rules apply.

Our scholars have been learning all about what it means to be healthy in gym class! This week, they’ve explored the different muscles in their bodies, learned about heart rates, and discovered how physical activity affects their bodies.

Mr. Fails is helping our scholars understand that being healthy is about more than just exercise—it’s about taking care of your whole self! 🏃‍♀️🧠💓

🎉 Perfect Attendance Celebration! 🎉

Our K–8 students who had perfect attendance for the month of August earned a little extra fun! 🥳 They enjoyed extra recess and a cold treat to celebrate showing up, being ready to learn, and starting the school year strong! 🍧☀️

📚 Did you know? Missing 10% of school, which equals about 18 days or 2 days per month, can make it harder to learn to read and do basic math?
