It’s such a great thing seeing our Union interact with the community. Bellevue-Dayton Firefighters IAFF Local 3751 sponsored the Bellevue Basketball golf outing this week. Along with that a member of local 3751 along with 2 retired members from Fort Thomas IAFF Local 1928 participated in the outing as well. This is what supporting the community looks like, outstanding job!

Whether you're roasting marshmallows or enjoying a cozy evening outdoors, It’s important to follow local fire pit rules to keep your neighborhood safe and compliant.


Fire Pit Rules per Kentucky fire code:

• Must use a commercially manufactured fire pit with a screen cover or equivalent to contain sparks.

• Fire pit must be attended until fire is completely extinguished

• Keep a fire extinguisher or hose nearby.

• Fire pits must be at least 15 feet from structures or combustible materials.

• Never burn on windy days.

• Any fire that is deemed a nuisance can be ordered extinguished



General Guidelines (Statewide – Kentucky)

According to the Kentucky Energy and Environment Cabinet:

✅ Allowed: Small wood fires for warmth, cooking, and camping.

❌ Prohibited: Burning trash, plastics, treated wood, tires, or food waste.

⛔ Ozone Season Restrictions: From May 1 to Sept 30, open burning is not allowed in Campbell County (includes Bellevue & Dayton)

🌲 Fire Hazard Seasons: From Feb 15–Apr 30 and Oct 1–Dec 15, burning within 150 feet of woodland is only allowed between 6PM and 6AM.

FDBD is proud to announce that we just became a Certified Child Car Seat Fitting Station!

What dose this mean?
FDBD now provides car seat installation free of charge for our residents. All you have to do is call and schedule an appointment with one of our technicians. This program is in conjunction with Cincinnati Children’s Hospital and their Injury and Trauma Protection Program.

This past weekend The Fire Department of Bellevue-Dayton hosted its first fire department showcase event! We invited local leaders from City of Bellevue, Kentucky, City of Dayton, Kentucky, and our fire board. This showcase was performed to give an in-depth insight into what we do at FDBD.

Participants were able to get fitted for gear, preform forcible entry, vehicle extrication, flow a charged hose line, watch a simulated full arrest, and much more. 

We have heard amazing feed back from our participants and hope we can do this again in the future!

We would also like to say a very big thank you to Southgate Fire Department. They were nice enough to let us barrow 10 pairs of boots, 10 helmets, and 10 SCBA masks to be able to outfit everyone in their own gear.
