This week, our teens stepped into the kitchen with Premier Health for a hands-on cooking experience!

With guidance from culinary chefs, they learned new kitchen skills, explored the importance of nutritious choices and put their knowledge into action by assembling snack packs for the upcoming African American Wellness Walk this weekend.

Experiences like this help our teens build confidence, discover new interests and develop practical skills they can carry into the future.

Last week, BGCD Board Member, Trevor Collier, shared why he believes in our From Here, Forward campaign and what this investment means for young people in Dayton.

The From Here, Forward campaign is about more than building a new Club—it’s about expanding access to caring mentors, meaningful opportunities and safe, supportive spaces where youth and teens can discover their potential and build great futures.

We’re grateful to Trevor for his leadership, advocacy and continued commitment to the young people we serve.

We’re excited to share that $3.45 million in grant funding has been approved for 11 organizations in Region 8 by the OneOhio Recovery Foundation Board of Directors as part of Regional Grant Cycle 2, including:

🔵 Affecting Community Transformation dba Oasis House
🟢 Ascend Innovations, Inc.
🔵 Wright State University
🟢 Boys & Girls Club of Dayton
🔵 MonDay Community Correctional Institution
🟢 FOA Foundation
🔵 Nova Behavioral Health, Inc.
🟢 Daybreak, Inc.
🔵 Sidewalk Soldiers
🟢 Homefull
🔵 Five Rivers Health Centers

These investments will support critical efforts across the region to save lives, prevent addiction, expand access to treatment, support recovery, and strengthen community resilience.

Across Ohio, Regional Grant Cycle 2 will make approximately $45 million available, following our inaugural grant cycle that awarded more than $45 million to 245 projects statewide.

Many thanks to the OneOhio Recovery Foundation for investing in the Boys & Girls Club of Dayton to support our Strong Foundations: Youth Prevention & Resilience project. 💙💚

This significant investment will strengthen BGCD’s Health & Well-Being pillar by supporting evidence-based prevention programs integrated into our comprehensive Club programming.
